Before Dialed Outdoors became a company, this was simply the hat that accompanied expedition after expedition because it never gave us a reason to reach for another.

From the thin air of the Atacama to Himalayan valleys, from African summits to Arctic landscapes, from paddle world records and mountain traverses to everyday training miles, it quietly became part of the uniform.

When the time came to launch Dialed Outdoors, we didn't ask what hat we wanted to sell. We asked what hat had already earned the right.

Why Black on Black

The first version was intentionally understated.

No loud graphics. No oversized branding.

Just enough to recognize each other if you knew what you were looking at.

The black-on-black embroidery reflects something we believe deeply: the objective should always speak louder than the equipment.

Hand wash only in cold water with mild detergent.

Never machine wash, tumble dry, or bleach — heat and agitation compromise the bonded construction.
